Ko Libong Is a name of an island in Thailand, and also of a Tambon of Kantang District which includes Mu Ko Libong Archipelago and a small section of the shoreline near Kantang town. It is 40 km2.

Koh Kradan has the second largest number of beachfront hotels, with all 5 establishments right on the beach, generally 2-star budget. They span the range from cheap thatch and bamboo bungalows to an up-market, quality boutique resort. As more and more foreign tourists discover these islands the resorts respond with gradual upgrading and expansion.

Libong’s main claim to fame within Thailand is its resident population of dugongs, and its population of about 100 animals is the country’s last. Libong is accessed through a small boat port at Haad Yao. Longtail boats ferry passengers across the half-hour ride to the island for 50 Baht per person. Renting a boat for the trip costs 450 Baht (2010 prices). The little mainland port is quite picturesque, and has a couple of small hotels and restaurants overlooking the estuary, making over-night stays here a pleasant experience.
